Maintenance Contracts
Nugent Pump Services offers maintenance of Sewage Treatment Plants, Pumping Stations and Pumps. Specifically our maintenance contracts include electrical and mechanical checks, carried out by our trained engineers on-site.

Maintenance Electrical Checks
As part of our routine maintenance services, we carry out comprehensive electrical checks to keep your system efficient and fully operational. To begin with, our engineers visually inspect the control equipment within the main control panel. Next, they clean and check all key connections, terminals, and power cabling to the submersible pump — whether it’s for a Submersible Pumping Station or a Sewage Treatment Plant. We also perform essential electrical insulation tests to verify continuity and resistance. Together, these checks help prevent faults, minimise breakdowns, and ensure long-term system reliability.

Maintenance Mechanical Checks
As part of our mechanical maintenance services, Nugent Pump Services carries out detailed inspections to keep your system running at peak efficiency. To start, our engineers uplift and inspect each pump for signs of wear and tear. They then check key components, including top and bottom bearings, mechanical seals, and wear rings. We also examine the pump oil for contamination and top it up as needed.
In addition, we clean and inspect the level control equipment, pipework, and all associated valves to ensure the system functions as it should. These checks are carried out on both Pumping Stations and Sewage Treatment Plants, helping to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.

Maintenance Contracts: Written Report
Upon completion of the maintenance work, we will submit a full written report for each pump, detailing any defects or recommendations required. This will include all test results carried out on site.
Maintenance Contracts: Sewage Treatment Plants (only)
In addition to our standard maintenance services, Nugent Pump Services conducts wastewater sampling for sewage treatment plants that discharge into a dyke, soakaway, or watercourse. We perform key tests, including Ammonium and activated sludge tests, to assess the quality of the discharged wastewater. Based on the results, we implement appropriate procedures to address any issues and ensure environmental compliance.
After each sampling visit, we provide a detailed report and a quotation for any recommended remedial works. To prioritise actions, all faults are categorised using a clear colour-coded system:
Red = urgent
Amber = within the next 3 months
Green = within the next 6 months
In addition to our scheduled services, we offer a 24-hour breakdown response to address urgent issues promptly. We also provide additional support, including tanker services, drain clearing, and high-pressure jetting, to help keep your system running smoothly.
