Willingham Woods Picnic Site has toilet facilities and a small kiosk serving food. The existing septic tank and associated pumping station failed to not only meet demand but was not in accordance with the present regulations.
Nugent Pump Services Ltd (Environmental Systems and Services UK Ltd) designed, supplied and installed a new Rewatec sequence batch reactor sewage treatment plant to cater with minimum and maximum flows of waste water. The refurbishment also included a new Grease Trap installed within the kitchen area to reduce fat build up within the new sewage treatment plant.
The civil works were particularly difficult due to the sandy soil and the amount of tree roots and trees that had to be removed before the work could commence.
